Preventing Acne and Pimples
One of the most common questions we get from readers is, “How do I prevent acne?”
Your genetics will play a role in your susceptibility to acne breakouts, which is one thing that you can do nothing about. Apart from that and although there is no known cure for acne there are measures you can take to reduce and prevent the frequency and severity of acne.
Here is a list of suggestions that have been shown to prevent acne.
- Limit the use of oily cosmetics.
- At the first sign of an acne breakout use an OTC product like Proactiv
- Diet has not shown to have a lot of influence on acne with the exception of dairy products. Regardless, if you notice a particular food makes your acne worse, avoid that food.
- Control your stress
- Avoid drugs that are known to cause acne breakouts

I love cheese and you specify on this post that dairy is not good for acne. I do have bad acne that comes and goes but mostly comes. Do you know which dairy foods are worse for acne than others. I want to do all I can to prevent acne and pimples.
Thanks for the help
Steve,
