Does Greasy Food Cause Acne?

Greasy Food=Acne?

Does pizza cause acne“You really shouldn’t eat that ice cream or those french fries and especially that pizza if you want your acne to go away.”, says your friend. Have you ever heard something similar to that? Is your friend right? Do greasy foods like french fries, potato chips and pizza cause acne?

Scientists have done their research and to this day greasy foods can not be scientifically proven to be a primary cause of acne outbreaks. There is however a second application of food and how it may affect acne flare ups.

It is scientifically proven that stress is a cause of acne breakouts. Therefore it would be prudent to consider how food may affect our stress levels. Food that are high in fat and sugar have a number of negative effects upon the body. Weight gain is one of the results of a high calorie diet and being overweight causes emotional stress. The consumption of foods high in fat and sugar also prevent the brain from functioning at optimum performance and any time someone is unable to think clearly stress will be a result.

There is one dietary item that has been proven to be a cause of acne breakouts. That is dairy products such as milk, cheese, ice cream and other dairy items.

In conclusion it is true that greasy foods do not have a primary affect on acne but foods will have an affect on our ability to think right thoughts further impacting our emotional well being and stress levels. Stress does cause acne by hormonal triggers.

Greasy foods really bother my skin. I feel like I cannot even go into a pizza place.
